IVSZ: the joint platform of the ICT industry and digital companies in Hungary

In response to the increasing dominance of the ICT sector, the ICT Association of Hungary has taken on a significant role in the country’s digital transformation. By clearly communicating innovative industry trends and relevant concerns, the association is dedicated to implementing and emphasizing the importance of the digital economy. Consequently, IVSZ has consistently aspired to effectively represent the sectoral and social interests and strategic goals of the Hungarian information society and the ICT sector. Furthermore, IVSZ, as a joint platform for the Hungarian ICT sector, fosters collaboration and synergy among key players in the digital economy.

Our contribution

Our Role in Digital4Sustainability

The ICT Association of Hungary (IVSZ) is the joint platform for the information technology, telecommunications, and electronics sectors, representing the interests of the Hungarian information and communication technology sector for over 30 years with 350 members. IVSZ has an extensive network and strong ties with diverse stakeholder groups, which support project implementation. IVSZ is involved in several initiatives aimed at accelerating digital skills in Hungary and across Europe, underscoring the crucial importance of these skills in the modern economy.

IVSZ believes in the critical importance of digital skills in driving innovation, economic growth, and competitiveness, and in creating sustainable solutions that meet modern challenges. In the D4Sustainability project, IVSZ contributes to all Work Packages. We play an important role in assessing industry needs, developing profiles and skills strategies, and act as an industry partner to strengthen the overall project. Furthermore, IVSZ has an ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Working Group. The ESG-based corporate philosophy requires a different way of operating and thinking from companies, and we are running a working group based on this philosophy. The main objective of the working group is to review and propose regulations on ESG activities and to support our member companies in the implementation and development of the Directive. The working group aims to educate the member companies of IVSZ on ESG implementation and to produce an awareness-raising publication for them.

By developing a Digital Sustainability Skills Strategy and innovative training programs, this project addresses the urgent need for digital and green expertise, ensuring the workforce is prepared for future challenges. By fostering industry leadership, enhancing competitiveness, and promoting valuable partnerships with educational institutions, we aim to make significant environmental, social, and economic impacts on the Hungarian digital economy.
